Whilst working in collaboration with fellow club members, I undertook many voluntary activities that were beneficial to our adopted Hatcliffe community in line with Rotary International’s global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world in a nonreligious, non-political and non-profit manner. Amongst the activities that I was actively involved in were Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns, Clean up drives, Blood drives, Spelling Bee competitions and more. As a result of some of the efforts in the club, I was humbled to be recognised by fellow club members and awarded Most Innovative Member 2016, Service Above Self Award 2017 and a number of Sponsor Appreciation Awards.
As inaugural NMF Secretary, my role was mainly to assist the Chairman and the committee in the coordination and administration of a new Catholic men's forum that sought to dispel men's apathy towards charitable activities at Nazareth House and in Greater St Gerard's Parish and to complement the fantastic efforts of the women folk who had taken a very commendable and leading role. Nazareth Men’s fellowship is a disciple –making men’s movement whose mission is to engage men in our community with a credible offer of Jesus Christ, help each other grow in our knowledge and love of Christ, and equip ourselves to serve God in the home, Church, work place, community and the world.
